Hear what's
inside the sound

Drop any audio file. Auris identifies instruments, key, BPM, chord progressions and mix characteristics — entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded to a server.

What Auris Does

Every layer
of the track

01 · KEY + MODE
Key Detection
Krumhansl-Schmuckler maps the 12-tone chroma vector against major and minor key profiles. Tells you the key and whether it's major, minor, or modal.
02 · CHORD MAP
Chord Progressions
Audio is split into 4 temporal segments. Claude analyses how harmonic content shifts across them to identify which chords are cycling and in what order.
03 · INSTRUMENT ID
Instrument Recognition
Spectral centroid, harmonicity, MFCC fingerprint and band energy combine to identify specific instruments and synth models — TR-909, Juno-106, TB-303 and more.
04 · TEMPO
BPM + Time Signature
Autocorrelation BPM detection with adaptive onset detection. Time signature uses phase-scoring against 2/4, 3/4, 4/4, 6/8 and 5/4 candidates with confidence scoring.
05 · MIX
Mix Profile
Frequency energy across 7 bands, dynamic range, stereo width, spectral brightness and compression level — translated into plain English a producer can act on.
06 · RECORD
Live Recording
Point your mic at a speaker. Hit record. Auris captures up to 30 seconds and runs the full analysis pipeline on whatever it hears — no file needed.
The Display

Results on
a real-time screen

The left panel is a phosphor CRT-style display. Key and mode appear large. BPM, time signature and confidence update live as the analysis runs.

How It Works

Three steps

01
Load Audio
Drag in an MP3, WAV, FLAC, OGG or M4A. Or paste a SoundCloud link. Or hit record and play something into your microphone.
02
Browser DSP
FFT, MFCC, chroma, pitch and onset analysis all run client-side via the Web Audio API. Your audio file never leaves your device.
03
AI Analysis
The acoustic fingerprint is sent to Claude, which cross-references every measurement to identify instruments, chords, and produce a written summary.
